COG-threads are bioresorbable (self-dissolving) threads that are inserted under the skin using a cannula designed for the threads. There are small barbs in the COG-threads, which create a lifting effect on the face.
It is possible to make larger lifts with COG-threads than with mesothreads. In many cases, they are also a better option than a filler.
COG-thread treatment is an ideal form of treatment when you want to elevate the middle face and saggy cheeks, or gently lift the entire face at once. Thanks to the long threads and the barbs in the threads, even a smaller number of threads can lift the skin significantly. Treatment is always preceded by a consultation. In the consultation a treatment plan is made and the number of threads and the patient’s wishes are assessed.
COG-threads dissolve at its own in about 6 to 10 months. After the procedure, the skin may show ripple or unevenness at the injection area, which is caused by the tightening of the thread under the skin. The skin smoothes out in about 2 to 4 weeks. Immediately after the treatment, swelling, redness and possibly bruising may occur in the treatment area, which will disappear on its own.
An anaesthetic will be used in the procedure, which makes the treatment almost painless. After the treatment, sauna or heavy physical activity is not recommended for three days.
